Things are busy.
But busy, nevertheless.
Of course, I realise you don’t visit this website every other day hoping to see an update from me. So, you probably don’t mind that it’s been a while since I had chance to self-indulgently update you.
It’s important for me to at least think you might stop by every once in a while.
Indeed, folks keep emailing through the contact form asking for me to write copy. That makes me think some Google spider seems to be checking in every now and then.
What IS going on in the world of me?
Aside from writing a load of copy for all sorts of random but incredibly interesting things?
We’ve been commissioned for another series of the podcast
When I say ‘we’ve been commissioned’...
I mean I’ve had enough positive feedback about the first ten episodes of The All Good Copy Podcast to keep going.
In fact, I’ve got ten more guests already lined up for series two and they’re all shockingly spiffing.
Still, the first series is pretty damn good itself – if I may say so myself.
It’s been great talking to different people, making some silly music and sharing book recommendations that people actually seem to take on board.
If you’ve not listened to it yet, you should.
Really. I mean it.
Not because of me and my terrible attempt at humour throughout…but because the guests are obscenely generous with their insight and knowledge and deliver an absolute silver platter of great advice.
Check it out.
And once you have, share your favourite episode on social media so more people find out about the lovely guests.
Ohhhh, I’m a loser, baby
You may remember my book, The Art of the Click, was shortlisted for a Business Book Award.
It didn’t win.
It honourably lost out to the big, bad Shottonator and his Factory of Choosing.
To be fair, though, Richard’s written a great book and it’s been praised to the sky by all the industry bigwigs.
Plus, you could say it paved the way for my little old book to be published by Harriman House. So I’m happy it got the nod.
If you’ve not read it yet, you should. You could buy it with mine. And Dave Trott’s new one.
Just buy all the books.
All of them.
More exciting and happy news on the book front is that it’s being turned into an audiobook.
Yup. You can have my words in your ears as well as your eyes.
I had a load of auditions sent to me for narrators, which was very funny and weird and actually pretty cool.
One narrator stood out and I’m excited to hear him read the whole thing myself.
I think that will be ready June maybe.
I’ll keep you posted.
Live, in person, Mr Glenn Fisher
After taking a little break, I’ve got a load of speaking gigs coming up soon too.
I’ll be in Leeds with the DMA in June. Details coming in a bit.
And then I’m down in London for a digital marketing summit (more on that soon too) and then the ProCopywriter Conference, which you should definitely come along to if you’re a fellow copywriter.
If you’d like to book me for an event (about marketing, though I’m pretty flexible) or you’d like to get me on your podcast to natter…just give me a shout.
For now, though, that’s enough about me…
The question is:
What have you been up to?
Aha! The tables have turned – now who’s making it all about themselves?
I’ll get my coat.
But do feel free to get in touch if you need to talk copy.
