It was all a bit crazy really.
At 9am the tickets for the first-ever live show version of The All Good Copy Podcast went on sale.
A few hours later, they’d sold out.
Next day I released another few spare ones.
They sold out in minutes.
As I say: crazy.
It’s no wonder really. The first-eve live show version is being held at the headquarters of Ogilvy in London. And my guest for the show is the vice-chairman of Ogilvy, Rory Sutherland.
It promises to be a fun time and if it goes well, I’ll be looking to take the show on tour.
If you’d like to help out in organising a show near you, get in touch.
Magazines and zines
As well as organising an audacious live event at the HQ of the biggest ad agency in the world, I also had some short words published in the biggest advertising publication in the world this week, which was nice,
I contributed to a piece in Campaign about why Fridays are the best day to work from home.
As I work from home every day now, I’ve got a pretty good handle on the situation.
You can read the piece on the Campaign website here.
I also had a full new piece published in The Marketing Society’s EMPOWER magazine.
Unfortunately, it’s only for members, but I’ll be sure to post the piece when a bit of time has passed.
And, to complete a hat-trick - and us copywriters just love threes - I’ve got a piece being published in the second issue of DIY creative fanzine, Creative Rehab.
However, this piece is a bit different. It’s not an article. It’s a comic.
Yes, you read that right. I’ve created a character called Copy Duck and will be drawing his adventures through the world of advertising.
I’ll share more details when it’s published.
There’s a lot of exciting stuff in the pipeline that I’ll tell you about another time…
But this month is all about talks (and moving house).
In between trying to pack and move hundreds of books, I’m doing three talks in the next couple of weeks.
One in Hull and two in London.
One of the London events is sold out now, but you can find out more details about the other London date and the talk in Hull in the events page here.
After these talks I’m heading to Japan for a couple of weeks, but will be back after that with some incredible new guests on the podcast and some weird and wonderful new developments.
In the meantime, to keep up to date with what I’m up to, if you’re not already, find me on Twitter here and say hello.
