As part of the celebrations to mark the publication of The Art of the Click, I'll be holding a little signing and launch party in my hometown with friends, family and the different local business people I've been working with and getting to know recently. Frankly, it's an open invitation to anyone who's interested in hearing more about the book, how to 'do better marketing' or just need an excuse to celebrate (which is fine).
Indeed, please feel free to share this invitation with anyone who you think might find it interesting. The more people in the North East Lincolnshire area who can pop down, the better.
You can join the event on Facebook here.
Here's the plan:
First half of the party is going to be in The Globe Cleethorpes on Cambridge Street. This is the new book and coffee shop that's just opened. I thought it would be a great chance for people to come down and check it out if you haven't already. I think it's great that people like Matthew and his son are trying to do cool things in the area and it's a pleasure to support the place.
I'll be in there pretending like I'm a proper person from 2pm to 4pm. I'll be chatting about the book, selling copies of the book and even signing the book (if anyone other than my Nanna happens to want their copy signing). Whether you buy the book or not, I'd love people to come down, grab a coffee and say hello. Hell, we can even do a selfie for the 'gram.
After that, for part two, Ruth and I - and quite possibly Pablo, my dog - will be in message in a bottle cleethorpes having a few drinks. Though Pablo does enjoy a beer, he won't be drinking.
If by chance you've not been to Message In A Bottle yet, this is another great local place in Cleethorpes to check out. It's a craft beer shop inside, but they now have a covered area out front where you can enjoy a some lovely brown booze, either from the shop, or on tap. It's a great, relaxed vibe (sorry, I said vibe) and another lovely location to have in Cleethorpes.
It would be an absolute pleasure to see you down there and have a catch up. New friends and old. Indeed, so I can get an idea on numbers, it would be grand if you could say you're coming, interested or despise me and everything I stand for.
Otherwise, as there will be limited copies of the book on the day, if you want to guarantee you've got the coolest accessory for the thinker about Grimsby and Cleethorpes, you can pre-order the book here.
Pre-orders really do help with this whole book publishing thing, so if you do order a copy ahead of time, it would be ace. Plus it's fun to turn up with your book like it's a proper event.
Go on, treat yourself.
Otherwise, thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing you October 13th.
